GIM to host an interactive MDP session on Corporate Social Responsibility

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) will be hosting a Management Development Programme (MDP) themed “Crafting CSR Strategy that Works”. The MDP is conceptualized and being delivered by Dr. Venkatesh D N, Professor – OB and HR at GIM. The two-day MDP to be held on the 26th and 27th of February in Bangalore aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) besides hands-on experience with strategy and execution.

CSR has already been embraced by major organizations all over the world, and it continues to grow in importance as corporations see the value in giving back to communities. Companies see it as their responsibility to provide aid at different levels based upon national mandates and social, economic and employee connections. The recent CSR legislation has made giving back mandatory – now that we know it is here to stay, CSR strategies need to be researched thoroughly and implementation needs to be more efficient.

This unique and experiential programme will strive to offer the participants the means to achieve exactly this objective. The MDP includes a general overview of CSR, as well as a more in-depth look at Indian legislation on CSR and its implications. Participants will learn about the latest trends in CSR and the best practices that companies can use. This includes ways to connect CSR and employee engagement and approaches in designing and executing CSR strategies.

To make things relatable to the participants and elucidate key concepts, the Programme will incorporate a practical pedagogy through several interactive sessions. Discussing the highlights of the MDP, Dr. Venkatesh D N said, “It is a comprehensive program that covers the strategy and execution, best practices and structured road map for professionals engaged in the area.” He will bring to the Programme over two decades of HR Functional/Academic and Consulting Experience across Banking, IT, Logistics and Social sectors .

The MDP is ideal for professionals who are already involved with CSR responsibility in their respective organizations can boost their practices and performance. Also, CSR team members can gain insight into new methods and strategies for maximizing productivity while working with communities. And, of course, this programme will be very valuable for students who want to gain insight into CSR for future career prospects.
